Pyay
Asmall town on a bend in the Ayeyarwady River and is 260 km north west of Yangon. Pyay is very close to what was the seat of the Pyu Kingdom from the 5th to the 9th centuries. Called Sri Ksetra, there are still many ruins from this ancient capital. The site features quite a different architectural style to other periods and is one of the most interesting historical and archaeological sites in Myanmar.
Pyay lies 290 kilometers northwest of Yangon and is comfortably accessible by car, which takes between five and six hours. Tourist destination places are Shwe San Daw Pagoda, Akauk Taung and Sri Ksetra World heritage site etc.
